How to remove sod

1. Start by removing any existing sod from the area where you’ll be working. This will give you a clean slate to work with and make the job go more smoothly.

2. Next, use a spade or other sharp tool to loosen the soil in the area where you’ll be removing sod. This will make it easier to remove the sod later on.

3. Once the soil is loosened, use a garden hose or other watering device to wet down the area. This will make the sod easier to remove and will also help keep the soil moist during the removal process.

4. Now it’s time to start removing the sod. Use a spade or other tool to lift the sod in large sections. Try to avoid breaking the sod into smaller pieces, as this will make it more difficult to remove later on.

5. Once the sod is removed, you’ll need to dispose of it properly. You can either compost it or throw it away in the trash.

Plan ahead – make sure you have enough sod to cover the area you’re removing
