When you’re a professional creative, it may be inevitable that the things you end up doing have to be harder on your end. There’s a part of us that needs to detach from the act of creation because our creations are going to be part of a company’s output.
But because we are artists, it is inevitable that you have to draw on inspiration so that you can grow. It helps us produce more ideas and gets us excited to get out of bed and work.
We also subconsciously seek inspiration without actively knowing so. We talk to friends. We follow artists on X and Bluesky. Or maybe after a friend’s lunch, you find yourself happy and excited to create things. That is my friend, inspiration.
We’ve gathered and listed down the ways that you can gather inspiration from! Happy art-ing!
Sports
Sports is physics in motion. The movements, the action – everything can be so fun to watch! But more than that, it’s amazing to see how people fight to victory and really compete well in their chosen field of sports. It’s no wonder sports betting, especially with the NBA odds, has become so popular. The athletes themselves are inspiring. We’ve got Imane Khalif for the women. Despite her loss, she made a huge impact on women worldwide through the way she worked hard and asserted her victory. And for the men, it’s none other than the inventor of the Mamba Mentality himself, Kobe Bryant!
A Change in Your Routine
If you’re looking for a change of pace or some fresh new air, then the perfect time is now! Switch up your routine. If you work remotely, you can try changing the scenery. Work at your kitchen, avoid the room. That can make things more pleasant. Do something different than your usual!
Try exploring your city. Is there a different restaurant you want to try? Maybe you can do things differently, even if it’s for one day!
Consume Art
Steal like an artist! It’s what creatives have always advocated for. When you produce art, you need to know what trends are going on and how artists keep pushing themselves to grow in their craft. Sometimes, even the smallest of details can rethink the way you create – or even inspire you to try out new techniques.
Experiences
Reflect – have you had great experiences? They count. But the bad – the kind of bad that leaves an invisible mark on you and will remain with you forever? That’s also a great idea to inspire your art.
Real-life experiences have influenced books and movies. Pride & Prejudice by Austen? Inspired by a real-life encounter. The subject was Tom Lefroy. They almost got married. Later on in her life, in a period where she was couch-surfing and miserable, Austen’s mental state inspired Persuasion.
Visions and Dreams
Dreams and visions are the realm of the mystical! But boy, can they offer such great inspiration! Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga was born from a dream Meyer had. The first book became a hit. It spanned a successful movie franchise. On the other hand, Hildegard of Bingen used her visions to write.
Wrapping Up
Some people say, necessity is the mother of invention.
We say, inspiration is the mother of creativity. You can get your creative juices flowing with any of these inspirations. We wish you luck in your creative endeavors!
